Teresa Dreyfus Appointed to Lead Rio Hondo College

DreyfussTeresa Dreyfus was named the ninth president of Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California. The two-year college, east of Los Angeles, enrolls nearly 18,000 students. Men make up 54 percent of the student body.

Dreyfus has been serving as interim president since June 30, 2012. Previously, she was vice president for finance and business. She has been on the staff at the college since 1987. Madeline Shapiro, chair of the board of trustees, stated, “Teresa’s knowledge of Rio Hondo College gained during her 26-year career here, as well as her vast financial experience, make her the right choice at this time when we face such fiscal uncertainties with the state’s budget.”

A native of Taiwan, Dreyfus is a graduate of the University of Chinese Culture. She earned an MBA at the University of La Verne in La Verne, California.
