The Next President of Cypress College in California

The next president of Cypress CollegeThe board of trustees of the North Orange County Community College District has appointed JoAnna Schilling as the next president of Cypress College in Cypress, California. She will take office in July.

Cypress College, near the city of Anaheim, southeast of Los Angeles, enrolls more than 16,000 students in two-year programs. Women make up 55 percent of the student body.

Dr. Schilling has been serving as the interim vice president for academic affairs at Rio Hondo College in Whittier, California. Earlier, she was vice president for academic affairs at Cerritos College in Norwalk, California.

Dr. Schilling is a graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, where she majored in English. She holds a master of fine arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh and an educational doctorate from Oregon State University.
