Four Women New to the Faculty at the School of Social Work at Washington University in St. Louis

Wustl-logoWashington University in St. Louis has announced that there are eight new faculty members currently teaching at its George Warren Brown School of Social Work. Four of the new faculty members are women.

BarnesSheretta Butler-Barnes is an assistant professor whose research involves the formation of racial identity. Before joining the faculty she was a postdoctoral fellow at the School of Education of the University of Michigan.

Dr. Butler-Barnes is a graduate of Michigan State University. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in developmental psychology from Wayne State University in Detroit.

EylerAmy A. Eyler is an assistant professor who is concerned with cancer prevention and health education and behavior. Before joining the faculty at Washington University, she taught at Saint Louis University.

Dr. Eyler holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Ohio University in Athens. She earned a Ph.D. in public health from Oregon State University.

MetzgerMolly Metzger is an assistant professor whose research is focused on affordable housing policy, racial segregation, and poverty in urban areas. She previously taught at the Harris School of Public Policy Studies at the University of Chicago.

Dr. Metzger is a graduate of Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, where she majored in women’s studies. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in human development and social policy from Northwestern University.

Riviera-NunezZorimarZorimar Rivera-Nunez is an assistant professor teaching in the master of public health degree program. She had been conducting postdoctoral research drinking-water contaminants as part of the National Academies Research Associateship Program with the Environmental Protection Agency in Cincinnati.

Dr. Rivera-Nunez holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Puerto Rico. She earned a Ph.D. in environmental health sciences at the University of Michigan.
