Chancellor of Indiana University Southeast to Step Down a Year Earlier Than She Had Planned

pattersonRandlesSandra Patterson-Randles, chancellor of Indiana University Southeast in New Albany, Indiana, has announced her intention to step down from her post on June 30, a year earlier than she had originally planned. Dr. Patterson-Randles has served as chancellor at the university since 2002. Previously, she was vice president for academic affairs at the Johnstown campus of the University of Pittsburgh.

In a statement to the university community, Dr. Patterson-Randles said, “In recent months some family issues have motivated me to reconsider the timing of my retirement from the chancellorship. I am truly proud of what our campus community and its many supporters have accomplished in my 11 years here, and I look forward to a continued bright future for the campus and people I so deeply care about.”

Dr. Patterson-Randles is a graduate of the University of Colorado, where she majored in classical languages and literatures. She holds two master’s degrees and a Ph.D. in English from the University of Kentucky.
