Julie Beth Zimmerman was appointed the inaugural Donna L. Dubinsky Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at Yale University. A former administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Zimmerman joined the Yale faculty in 2007.
Dr. Zimmerman is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She holds a Ph.D. in environmental engineering and natural resource policy from the University of Michigan.
Beverly Hogue has been promoted to full professor in English at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. Her promotion is effective on July 1. She has taught at the college since 2001. Dr. Hogue specializes in 20th-century American literature and postcolonial literature.
Professor Hogue is a graduate of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. She earned a master’s degree at University of Kentucky and a Ph.D. at Bowling Green State University.
Deborah Cook was appointed the Verizon Professor in Business Information Technology at the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Professor Cook has served on the Virginia Tech faculty for 20 years. She is the editor of the journal Production & Inventory Management.
Dr. Cook holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University.
Dr. Burris has served as provost of Lenoir-Rhyne University in Hickory, North Carolina for the past four years. She is slated to become the next president of SUNY's Buffalo State University on July 1.
Dr. Thompson's appointment marks a return to Union Theological Seminary, where she previously taught for three years. Most recently, she was the Cornelius Vanderbilt Chair of Black Homiletics & Liturgics at Vanderbilt University in Nashville.
