Three Women Earn Faculty Promotions

Zimmerman_JulieJulie Beth Zimmerman was appointed the inaugural Donna L. Dubinsky Associate Professor of Environmental Engineering at Yale University. A former administrator at the Environmental Protection Agency, Dr. Zimmerman joined the Yale faculty in 2007.

Dr. Zimmerman is a graduate of the University of Virginia. She holds a Ph.D. in environmental engineering and natural resource policy from the University of Michigan.

hogue_beverlyBeverly Hogue has been promoted to full professor in English at Marietta College in Marietta, Ohio. Her promotion is effective on July 1. She has taught at the college since 2001. Dr. Hogue specializes in 20th-century American literature and postcolonial literature.

Professor Hogue is a graduate of Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky. She earned a master’s degree at University of Kentucky and a Ph.D. at Bowling Green State University.

dcookDeborah Cook was appointed the Verizon Professor in Business Information Technology at the Pamplin College of Business at Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. Professor Cook has served on the Virginia Tech faculty for 20 years. She is the editor of the journal Production & Inventory Management.

Dr. Cook holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Virginia Tech and a Ph.D. from Texas A&M University.
