Trinity College Promotes Two Women to Full Professor

Trinity College, the highly rated liberal arts educational institution in Hartford, Connecticut, has announced the promotions of two women to the rank of full professor. The appointments are effective on July 1.
Sonia Cardenas, who currently serves as the Charles A. Dana Research Associate Professor of Political Science, will be promoted to full professor. She is also the director of the college’s Human Rights Program. Dr. Cardenas joined the Trinity College faculty in 2001. She is the author of Conflict and Compliance: State Responses to International Human Rights Pressure (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2007) and Human Rights in Latin America: A Politics of Terror and Hope (University of Pennsylvania Press, 2009).
Dr. Cardenas is a graduate of Tulane University in New Orleans. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Virginia.
Susan Masino, associate professor of psychology and neuroscience will be promoted to full professor. Dr. Masino joined the Trinity College faculty in 2003. Her research is focused on the role and regulation of adenosine in the nervous system.
A graduate of Tufts University with a degree in biopsychology, Dr. Masino earned her Ph.D. at the University of California at Irvine. She did postdoctoral research at UC Irvine and the University of Colorado Health Science Center.
