Eun Hee Jeon, a linguistics professor at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke, has received the Best Book Award from the Japanese Language Testing Association for her co-edited book, Understanding L2 Proficiency: Theoretical and Meta-analytic Investigations (John Benjamins Publishing Company, 2022). Dr. Jeon shares the award with her co-editor, Yo In’nami of Chuo University in Tokyo, Japan.
For more than a decade, Dr. Jeon has studied reading comprehension and language proficiency. Her award-winning book examines the factors that contribute to second- and foreign-language proficiency, including the relationships among reading, writing, listening and speaking skills and the linguistic, cognitive and other variables that support them.
Dr. Jeon earned her Ph.D. in linguistics from Northern Arizona University. She joined the UNC Pembroke faculty in 2009.
