JacQuene Rainey Appointed President of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Jackson

JacQuene Rainey has been named president of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Jackson. Her presidency began on October 1.

Tennessee College of Applied Technology (TCAT) is a community college system with several campuses across the state. According to the Department of Education’s most recent data from 2022, the Jackson campus enrolls about 2,200 students, 37 percent of whom are women.

In 2009, Dr. Rainey began her career with the TCAT system as a student services coordinator for the Whiteville campus, which has since merged with the Jackson campus. In 2017, she was promoted to assistant director of TCAT Northwest’s Covington and Ripley campuses. One year later, she was promoted to her most recent position as vice president of academic affairs at TCAT Northwest. In addition to her leadership roles, she spent two years teaching system-wide, online administrative office technology courses.

Dr. Rainey is a graduate of Union University in Jackson, Tennessee, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in organizational leadership and an MBA. She holds a doctorate in leadership and policy analysis from East Tennessee State University.
