Meredith College in North Carolina to Establish a New Nursing Program

Meredith College, a women’s college in Raleigh, North Carolina, has received approval from its board of trustees to establish a new degree program in nursing.

Faculty and leaders at Meredith College collaborated to create a new nursing curriculum to address the critical shortage of healthcare workers in the United States. The program will emphasize healthcare equity and justice, teaching students about ethical practice and cultural sensitivity in patient care. Students enrolled in the program will participate in a mix of classroom instruction and experiential learning opportunities aimed at preparing them for successful careers in healthcare after graduation.

The next step for Meredith College will be an official review by the North Carolina Board of Nursing for final approval to offer a prelicensure nursing degree.
