Yolanda Page Selected as the Eighth President of Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama

The board of trustees of Stillman College in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, has selected Dr. Yolanda W. Page as the institution’s eighth president. She will begin her new job on July 1.

Stillman College enrolls just over 700 students according to the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 56 percent of the student body.

“I’m excited about the opportunity to lead Stillman College, and I thank the board of trustees for its confidence in me to lead this storied institution,” Dr. Page said.

“I knew Stillman would be the right place to make the type of impact I’ve strived to make in my career and, ultimately, I’d like to continue to make as a president [at Stillman],” she continued. “That impact is grounded in student, faculty, and staff success and providing each of those groups with the tools and the access to resources that will allow them to grow and achieve what they feel are their missions in life.”

Since last fall, Dr. Page has been serving as provost and vice president for academic affairs at Savannah State University in Georgia. Earlier, she was a professor of English and vice president in the Division of Academic Affairs at Dillard University in New Orleans. Previously, Dr. Page served as dean of arts and sciences at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and as director of student success at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.

Dr. Page is a graduate of Dillard University, where she majored in English and business management. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in American and African American literature from Louisiana State University.
