Cedar Crest College, the liberal arts educational institution for women in Allentown, Pennsylvania, has announced promotions and/or tenure for four faculty members. Three of the faculty members are women.
Catherine M. Zurawski, director of graduate nursing programs, was awarded tenure. Dr. Zurawski joined Cedar Crest College School of Nursing in the fall of 2019. She holds a bachelor’s degree, a master’s degree, and a doctor of nursing practice degree, all from Misericordia University in Dallas, Pennsylvania.
Catherine M. Zurawski was promoted to senior instructor in the School of Nursing. Wagner holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in nursing with a specialty in women and children’s health from Cedar Crest College. She then worked at Reilly’s Children’s Hospital of the Lehigh Valley Health Network before beginning her teachng career at the college in 2016.
Carol J. Ritter was promoted to senior instructor in the department of chemical, physical & forensic sciences. She has taught at the college since 2016. Ritter previously worked as a forensic scientist with the Pennsylvania State Police Crime Laboratory analyzing evidence for the controlled substance section. She holds a master’s degree in biochemistry from the University of Scranton.
Dr. Gregory was appointed interim president of Jackson State University in May 2025. Prior to that appointment, she was the university's provost and vice president of academic affairs.
Dr. Jones currently serves as vice president of education and chief academic officer at the College of Lake County. She is slated to become the community college's interim president on May 1.
Dr. Ballabina has over three decades of experience with Texas A&M University and the university system. She currently serves as the system's executive vice chancellor.

Dr. Gibbs has been serving as dean of the division of business and economics at Morehouse College in Atlanta. She is slated to become the first woman president of historically Black Texas College on July 1.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
