Carol F. Hines, who taught art at Old Dominion University in Norfolk, Virginia, for nearly 35 years, died on March 4. She was 80 years old.
A native of Garland, North Carolina, Professor Hines held bachelor’s and master’s degrees in studio art and art education from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Professor Hines joined the faculty at Old Dominion University in 1968. She served as chair of the department of art and pioneered the teaching of anatomy and animation classes at the university. She retired in 2002 and was named professor emerita.
