Lidia Kos has been named vice provost and dean of graduate studies at the University of California, Riverside, effective July 15. She has been serving as a professor of biology, associate dean of the Graduate School, and associate vice president of the Office of Research and Economic Development at Florida International University.
Born in Brazil, Professor Kos received a bachelor’s degree in biology from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro and a Ph.D. in neurobiology from the University of California, Berkeley.
Divya Choudhary has been selected as the new dean of the Bailey College of Engineering and Technology at Indiana State University, effective August 1. Since March 2022, Dr. Choudhary has been dean of the College of Business, Engineering, and Technology at Texas A&M University at Texarkana. She is a professor of electrical engineering.
Dr. Choudhary received a bachelor’s degree in electronics engineering from the University of Mumbai in India. She earned a master’s degree and doctorate in electrical and computer engineering from the University of Memphis.
Johanna Bond has been named as the next dean of Rutgers Law School, with campuses in Newark and Camden, New Jersey. She will assume her new role on July 3. She is the Sydney and Frances Lewis Professor of Law at the law school of Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia. An expert in international human rights law and gender and the law, Professor Bond joined the faculty at Washington and Lee University in 2008. She is the author of Global Intersectionality and Contemporary Human Rights (Oxford University Press, 2021).
Professor Bond is a graduate of Colorado College. She earned a juris doctorate at the University of Minnesota.
Angie Tissi-Gassoway is the new chief student affairs officer and dean of students at Amherst College in Massachusetts. Tissi-Gassoway has served in the post on an interim basis since February of this year and earlier was the interim chief equity and inclusion officer for 14 months.
Tissi-Gassoway holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Oregon State University and a master’s degree in education in social justice education from the University of Massachusetts Amherst.
Dorian Traube will be the next dean of the Brown School of social work at Washington University in St. Louis, effective August 1. She is a professor in the Suzanne Dworak-Peck School of Social Work at the University of Southern California. Her research focuses on early child development, home visitation and telehealth solutions for families with young children.
Dr. Traude is a graduate of the University of California, Berkeley. She earned master’s and doctoral degrees in social work from Columbia University in New York City.
Pamela J. Powell has been named dean of Beverley Taylor Sorenson College of Education and Human Development at Southern Utah University, effective July 1. She is associate dean for the College of Education and an associate professor at Northern Arizona University.
Dr. Powell holds a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and elementary physical education from Texas Tech University. She earned a master’s degree in reading education at Arizona State University and a doctorate in curriculum and instruction with a focus on early childhood education at Northern Arizona University.
Jennifer Hunt, who has been serving as interim dean of the University of Florida College of Medicine, has been appointed dean of the Geisel School of Medicine at Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire. She will be the first woman to lead the Ivy League medical school in its 229-year history.
Dr. Gregory was appointed interim president of Jackson State University in May 2025. Prior to that appointment, she was the university's provost and vice president of academic affairs.
Dr. Jones currently serves as vice president of education and chief academic officer at the College of Lake County. She is slated to become the community college's interim president on May 1.
Dr. Ballabina has over three decades of experience with Texas A&M University and the university system. She currently serves as the system's executive vice chancellor.
