Gloria Oikelome Will Be the Next Provost at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pennsylvania

Gloria Oikelome was appointed provost and vice president of academic affairs at Delaware Valley University in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. She will take office on October 22.

Delaware Valley University enrolls more than 1,700 undergraduate students and more than 400 graduate students, according to the most recent data from the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 60 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Most recently, Dr. Oikelome served as vice president of academic affairs at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell, Pennsylvania. Earlier, she held academic leadership roles at Reading Area Community College and Lincoln University in Pennsylvania and the University of York (Hull York Medical School) in England.

Dr. Oikelome is a graduate of Bethel University, where she majored in biology. She earned a master’s degree in science education and cell & molecular biology from Long Island University in New York and a doctorate in higher education administration from Immaculata University in Pennsylvania. She also holds a Ph.D. degree in organizational leadership from Eastern University in Saint Davids, Pennsylvania.

Dr. Gonko has led Henry Ford College in Dearborn, Michigan on an interim basis for the past year. She will assume the presidency of Macomb Community College on July 1.
