Eight Women Who Have Been Appointed to New Administrative Positions at Colleges and Universities

Michelle Rey was named executive director of the College of the Canyons Foundation in the Santa Clarita Community College District in California. For the past three years, Rey was the director of development for Santa Clara University in California.

Rey earned a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from California State University, Northridge. She holds a master of public administration degree from Villanova University in Pennsylvania.

Tanika Busch was named vice chancellor for finance and administration and chief financial officer at the University of Missouri, St. Louis. She had been serving in the post on an interim basis. Earlier, Busch was director of financial planning at the university.

Busch earned a bachelor’s degree in management information systems and an MBA from the University of Missouri, St. Louis.

Denise Wujciak has been promoted to the director of sports medicine/senior woman administrator at Kean University in Union, New Jersey. She has been on the staff at the university for 19 years and was head athletic trainer. Wujciak is also a clinical instructor in the bachelor’s degree program in athletic training.

Wujciak earned a bachelor’s degree in physical education with a concentration in athletic training at William Paterson University in Wayne New Jersey. She holds a master’s degree in health education from the University of South Carolina.

Jenny Hall-Jones has been named interim vice president for student affairs at Ohio University. Since 2013, she has served as associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students at the university.

Dr. Hall-Jones holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology, a master’s degree in college student personnel, and a Ph.D. in higher education, all from Ohio University.

Mary E. Poole Palmer was appointed executive director for development and alumni relations at Louisiana College in Pineville. She has been on the staff at Texas Woman’s University for nearly a quarter century.

Dr. Palmer is a graduate of Louisiana College. She holds a master’s degree in education from the University of North Texas and an MBA and a Ph.D. from Texas Woman’s University.

Aline Phillips was appointed executive director of the Community Impact Network Center at Harris-Stowe State University in St. Louis. She was the director of the university’s academic resource center.

Dr. Phillips is a graduate of Harris-Stowe State University, where she majored in education. She earned a master’s degree in education and a doctorate in higher education administration from Maryville University in St. Louis.

Colleen Battista was named the environmental health and safety officer at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. Battista comes to Swarthmore from the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, where she worked for 12 years as a senior safety manager.

Battista holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in environmental science from Drexel University in Philadelphia.

Rollinda Thomas was appointed assistant vice chancellor for academic affairs at Fayetteville State University in North Carolina. She has been serving as associate vice president for academic programs for the University of North Carolina System.

Dr. Thomas is a graduate of North Carolina A&T State University, where she majored in art design. She holds a master’s degree in art education from East Carolina University in Greenville, North Carolina, and a Ph.D. in curriculum and instruction from North Carolina State University.
