Barnali Gupta Will Be the Next Dean of the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University

Barnali Gupta has been selected as the next Edward Jones Dean for the Richard A. Chaifetz School of Business at Saint Louis University in Missouri. Founded in 1910, the Chaifetz School is the oldest business school west of the Mississippi River. Dr. Gupta will begin her new duties on January 1, 2020.

Dr. Gupta currently serves as professor of economics and associate dean for curriculum in the Farmer School of Business at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. She is the first woman to hold the rank of full professor of economics at the university.

Professor Gupta joined the faculty at Miami University in 1993 after teaching at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Murray State University in Kentucky. She was promoted to associate professor in 1998 and to full professor in 2006.

Dr. Gupta is a graduate of Jadavpur University in India. She holds a master’s degree in economics from the University of Delhi in India and a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Florida.
