Three Universities Appoint Women to Provost Positions

Tricia Hunsader was promoted to provost and vice president for academic affairs at Tusculum University in Greeneville, Tennessee. She joined the Tusculum faculty in summer 2016 as dean of the College of Education. She has been interim provost since September 2019. Earlier, she taught for 11 years in the College of Education at the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee. Dr. Hunsader holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and a master’s degree in elementary education from the University of South Florida, Sarasota-Manatee. She earned a doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of South Florida in Tampa.

Carolyn Ringer Lepre was appointed provost at Radford University in Virginia, effective July 1. She is dean of communication and an associate professor at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, New York. Earlier in her career, Dr. Lepre was an assistant professor at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, and California State University, Chico. Dr. Lepre is a graduate of Miami University in Ohio, where she majored in English and journalism. She holds a master’s degree in journalism from Ohio University and a Ph.D. in mass communication from the University of Florida.

Tanuja Singh will be the next provost at Loyola University in New Orleans. Dr. Singh will take on her new duties in July. Currently, she is dean of the business school at St. Mary’s University in San Antonio, Texas. Originally a physicist, Dr. Singh received a master’s degree from Allahabad University in India. After coming to the United States, she earned an MBA at Millsaps College in Mississippi and went on to earn a Ph.D. in marketing at Southern Illinois University.
