In Memoriam: Cleo Glover Perry, 1924-2018

Cleo Glover Perry, former director of alumnae affairs at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina, passed away on November 8, 2018. She was 94 years old.

Perry joined the alumnae affairs staff at Meredith College after a 30-year career as a teacher in Wake County Public Schools. She went on to work for the college for 10 years and served as the school’s fourth director of alumnae affairs. She also served as the Alumnae Association President from 1966-1968.

Perry was the recipient of the 1987 Outstanding Alumna Award and the 2004 Philanthropy Award from Meredith College. In 1989, the college planted a garden at the entrance of the Frankie G. Weems Art Gallery and dedicated it to Perry. She went on to establish the Cleo Perry Endowment for the Meredith Legacy Scholarship and an Honors scholarship.

Perry received her bachelor’s degree from Meredith College.
