In Memoriam: Anne Marie Liles

Anne Marie Liles, director of experiential affairs and clinical associate professor of pharmacy practice at the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy, died on August 23.

Dr. Liles had been recognized nationally for her work in the pharmacy field when she was selected as chair of the Pharmacy Practice Section of the American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy. Additionally, she was going to be named a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy at its October meeting. She was an expert in renal disease and had previously worked with the Indian government to enhance the country’s pharmacy practice. Before joining the faculty at the University of Mississippi, Dr. Liles served on the faculty at the Harrison School of Pharmacy at Auburn University in Alabama.

Dr. Liles was a graduate of Queens University in Charlotte, North Carolina, where she majored in biochemistry. She went on to earn a Ph.D. in pharmacy from Auburn University.
