Terry Ballman Appointed Provost at Western Kentucky University

Terry Ballman will be the next provost and vice president for academic affairs at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green. She will take office on August 1.
Western Kentucky University enrolls about 17,500 undergraduate students and more than 2,600 graduate students according to the latest data supplied to the U.S. Department of Education. Women make up 58 percent of the undergraduate student body.
Dr. Ballman has been serving as dean of the College of Arts and Letters at California State University, San Bernardino. She joined the faculty there in 2013. Earlier, she was a professor of Spanish and special assistant to the provost at California State University, Channel Islands in Camarillo.
Dr. Ballman holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from California State University, Long Beach. She earned a Ph.D. in Spanish linguistics from the University of Texas.
