Ten Women Appointed to Administrative Positions at Major Universities

Kellie Anderson was appointed senior associate vice president for medical center advancement at the University of Rochester Medical Center. She had been serving as interim vice chancellor and chief development officer for the Medical and Health Sciences Foundation of the University of Pittsburgh.

Anderson holds a bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pennsylvania, and a master’s degree in public health from the University of Pittsburgh.

Clara Ross Stamps was named vice president for enrollment management and brand identity at Kentucky State University in Frankfort. She was vice president for marketing and communication at Alcorn State University in Mississippi.

Stamps joined the staff at Alcorn State University in 2009. She is a graduate of Mississippi College in Clinton, where she majored in marketing.

Jami Brothers in the new chief of police at Clemson University in South Carolina. She joined the police force at the university in 2007 and has been serving since 2015 as captain of the operations division.

Brothers is a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University in Central, South Carolina, where she majored in psychology. She earned a master’s degree in criminology at Indiana State University.

Barbara Dawson was appointed associate provost for information technology and chief information officer at West Virginia University. She has been serving as a senior adviser for the department of technology management and budget for the state of Michigan.

Dawson is a graduate of Michigan State University, where she majored in economics. She holds a master of public administration degree from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo.

Loretta P. Martinez was named vice chancellor for legal affairs and general counsel at the City University of New York. She has been serving as general counsel and secretary to the board of trustees at Metropolitan State University in Denver.

Martinez is a graduate of Yale University and Harvard Law School.

Rosemarie Rae was promoted to vice chancellor for administration and finance and chief financial officer at the University of California, Berkeley. She joined the staff at the university in 2014 as associate vice chancellor. Earlier, she was the chief financial officer for the National Trust for Historic Preservation.

Rae is a graduate of Radford University in Virginia, where she majored in accounting. She holds a master of public administration degree from American University in Washington, D.C.

Heather Lyke was named director of athletics at the University of Pittsburgh. She has been serving as vice president and athletics director at Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti. Earlier, she spent 15 years on the staff at Ohio State University.

Lyke is a graduate of the University of Michigan, where she majored in education. She earned a juris doctorate at the University of Akron.

Susan Gladstone was appointed director of the Jewish Museum of Florida at Florida International University in Miami. She had been serving as director of development and acting director of the museum.

Gladstone is a graduate of Florida International University, where she majored in social work. She holds a master of social work degree from Yeshiva University in New York.

Cathy Barr was appointed vice president for university advancement at California State University, San Marcos. She has been serving in the post on an interim basis since November. She joined the staff at the university in 2008 as associate vice president for communications.

Barr holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism and public relations from Fresno State University and an MBA from the University of California, Irvine.

Janice Ruggiero was promoted to acting director of intercollegiate athletics at the University of New Mexico. She has been serving as deputy athletics director for internal operations and senior woman administrator.

Ruggiero holds a bachelor’s degree in business and a master’s degree in sports administration from the University oi New Mexico.
