Kelly M. Quintanilla Selected to Lead Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi

Kelly QuintanillaThe board of regents of the Texas A&M University System has chosen Kelly M. Quintanilla as the next president of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi. The campus enrolls nearly 10,000 undergraduates and more than 2,000 graduate students. Women make up 59 percent of the undergraduate student body.

Dr. Quintanilla has served as interim president since January 2017. Since joining the faculty in 1994, she has served as a professor of communication, dean of the College of Liberal Arts, chair of the department of communication and theatre, and provost and vice president for academic affairs.

Dr. Quintanilla is the co-author of Business and Professional Communication: Keys for Workplace Excellence (Sage Publications, 3rd Edition, 2016). She holds a Ph.D. in communication from Pennsylvania State University.

Dr. McEwen comes to her new appointment following four years as president and vice chancellor of Victoria University in the University of Toronto. Earlier, she served in several leadership roles at the University of Toronto Mississauga. She received some of her education in the United States.
