Carol Moore to Lead Columbia College in South Carolina

The interim president of Columbia CollegeCarol A. Moore was named interim president of Columbia College, the educational institution for women in South Carolina. The college enrolls about 1,400 undergraduate students and just under 100 graduate students. Only women are permitted to live on campus but men can take classes in the evening, weekend, and graduate programs.

Dr. Moore came to Columbia College last fall to serve as provost and executive vice president. She has served as interim president of Burlington College in Vermont and is the former president of Lyndon State College in Lyndonville, Vermont. Before taking the reins of leadership at Lyndon State College in 1998, she was provost and vice president of academic affairs at Mercy College in Dobbs Ferry, New York.

Dr. Moore holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in biology from Montclair State University in New Jersey. She earned a Ph.D. in marine biology from Northeastern University in Boston.
