In Memoriam: Adele Howe

Adele HoweAdele Howe, a professor of computer science at Colorado State University, died on January 20. She had suffered from cancer.

Howe grew up in Philadelphia and graduate from the University of Pennsylvania in 1983. She majored in computer science and engineering. After working for a time in the artificial intelligence group for ITT Corporation, Howe enrolled in the Ph.D. program in computer science at the University of Massachusetts, earning her degree in 1992.

Later that year, she joined the faculty at Colorado State University. In 2010, Dr. Howe was named a Professor Laureate in the university’s College of Natural Sciences.
