The Alamo Colleges board of trustees has named Veronica R. Garcia as the next president of Northeast Lakeview College in Universal City, Texas. The newest institution in the Alamo Colleges District, Northeast Lakeview College enrolls about 6,000 students. She will take office on March 1.
Dr. Garcia has been serving as vice president of student affairs at Paradise Valley Community College in Phoenix, Arizona. Earlier, she was district dean of student affairs and enrollment management at Portland Community College.
Dr. Garcia is a graduate of the University of Arizona, where she majored in business administration. She holds a master’s degree in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University and a Ph.D. in community college leadership from Oregon State University.
