Patricia Hvidston, a former administrator and trustee of Saint Catherine University in St. Paul, Minnesota, died at her home in Hovland, Minnesota, on October 11. She was 72 years old.
Hvidston was a native of Grand Forks, North Dakota. She was a 1967 graduate of Saint Catherine University. After teaching in elementary school for a decade, she began a career in banking, rising to the position of president of Firstar Trust Company.
While serving as banking executive, Hvidston was appointed to the board of trustees of Saint Catherine University. She later joined the staff at the university in 2000 as vice president for development and external relations and led a successful $80 million fundraising campaign that concluded in 2005. She later served as senior vice president for development and communications for Catholic Charities USA in Washington, D.C.
