In Memoriam: Nancy Kinnersley, 1944-2016

Nancy KinnersleyNancy Kinnersley, associate professor of electrical engineering and computer science at the University of Kansas, died on May 18 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City. She was 71 years old.

Dr. Kinnersley joined the faculty at the University of Kansas in 1989 and was promoted to associate professor in 1995. She served as president of the University of Kansas Faculty Senate for 2013-2014.

A native of East Williamson, New York, near Rochester, Dr. Kinnersley was a graduate of the University at Albany of the State University of New York System. She held a master’s degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin and a Ph.D. in computer science from Washington State University.
