Two Women Among Four Finalists for Dean of the University of Wyoming Libraries

The University of Wyoming has announced four finalists for the position of dean of the University of Wyoming Libraries. All four candidates will visit the university’s campus by February 9 for interviews and public forums. Two of the four candidates are women.
Catherine Hamer is associate director for user services for the University of Texas Libraries. She has held this post since 2011. Hamer is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, where she majored in social science and minored in French. She holds a master’s degree in international affairs from George Washington University and a master of library and information science degree from San Jose State University in California.
Marilyn Moody is dean of the library at Portland State University in Oregon. Before coming to Portland State in 2012, Moody served as a tenured professor and dean of the University Library at Boise State University in Idaho. Earlier she held library posts at the University of California, Santa Barbara, the University at Buffalo of the State University of New York System, Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York, Iowa State University, and Miami University in Ohio. Moody earned a bachelor’s degree and a master of library and information science degree from the University of Illinois.
