Lisa Larson Named President of Eastern Maine Community College

The board of trustees of the Maine Community College System has named Lisa Larson as the next president of Eastern Maine Community College in Bangor. The college enrolls about 2,600 students. Women are half of the student body.

Dr. Larson has been serving as vice president for academic and student affairs at Hennepin Technical College in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota. Earlier in her career, she was interim president of North Hennepin Community College and served as dean of the division of business and industry at Lake Superior College in Duluth, Minnesota.

Dr. Larson is a graduate of Northern State University in Aberdeen, South Dakota. She holds a master’s degree from Minnesota State University-Mankato and an educational doctorate from St. Mary’s University of Minnesota in Winona.

Dr. Geneco comes to her new role from Tufts University in Massachusetts, where she has served as provost for the past four years. She is slated become the University at Buffalo's first woman president on August 10.
