Macalester College is a highly rated liberal arts educational institution in St. Paul, Minnesota. There are about 2,100 undergraduate students at the college. I-Chun Catherine Chang is an assistant professor of geography. She is teaching courses on world urbanization and the geography of Asia this fall. Dr. Chang is a graduate of National Kaohsiung Normal University in Taiwan. She earned a master’s degree from National Taiwan University and a Ph.D. in geography, environment, and society from the University of Minnesota.
Penelope Geng is a new assistant professor of English who is teaching courses on Shakespeare and early modern literature. She is currently working on a book on how Shakespearean drama impacted the popular understandings of justice. Dr. Geng is a graduate of the University of Toronto. She hold a master’s degree from the University of Chicago and a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles.
Lisa Mueller was appointed an assistant professor of political science. She spent last year as a visiting assistant professor at Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles. Dr. Mueller is a magna cum laude graduate of Pomona College in Claremont, California. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in political science from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Megan Reilly was named an assistant professor in the department of theatre and dance. She is currently teaching a course entitled “Fundamentals of Scene Design.” Reilly is a graduate of the University of New Hampshire, where she double majored in theatre and biology. She holds a master of fine arts degree in theatre design from the University of Texas at Austin.
Andrea Kaston Tange is a new full professor of English. She is an expert on nineteenth-century British literature and culture. Dr. Kaston Tange was a professor of English at Eastern Michigan University. She is the author of Architectural Identities: Domesticity, Literature and the Victorian Middle Classes (University of Toronto Press, 2010). Dr. Kaston Tange is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Vermont and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
Lori Ziegelmeier was appointed an assistant professor in the department of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. She has been a visiting assistant professor at Macalester College for the past two years when she taught applied calculus and multivariable calculus. Dr. Ziegelmeier is a magna cum laude graduate of Colorado State University, where she double majored in mathematics and liberal arts. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Colorado State.
With over 25 years of experience in higher education, business, and public service, Dr. Kollmann has been serving as chancellor of the New Mexico State University Global Campus. She is slated to become the next president of Vermont State University in July.
Throughout her career, Leeds has gained more than 25 years of experience as a professor and university administrator. Currently, she serves as dean of the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University.
