Company Ranks the Most Influential Deans of Nursing in the United States

Mometrix Test Preparation is a privately owned company based in Texas. Among its products are aids for students taking the National Council Licensure Examination (NCLEX). Students who pass this exam become licensed to practice nursing in the United States.

Recently, Mometrix published a list of “The 30 Most Influential Deans of Nursing in the United States.” Twenty-eight of the 30 influential deans are women.

Patricia-DavidsonLeading the list as the most influential dean of nursing is Patricia Davidson, dean of nursing at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore. She is the former director of the Center for Cardiovascular and Chronic Care at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. A primary objective of her work has been to improve the cardiovascular health of underserved populations. Dr. Davidson holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wollongong in Australia. She earned a Ph.D. in behavioral sciences at the University of Newcastle in Australia.

Also ranked among the top five most influential deans of nursing are Antonia M. Villarruel of the University of Pennsylvania, Donna S. Havens of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Marion E. Broome of Duke University, and Eileen Sullivan-Marx of New York University.
