Elizabeth D. Liddy, dean and Trustee Professor in the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University in New York, has been named interim vice chancellor and provost at the university. She will begin her new role on January 1. Dr. Liddy joined the Syracuse University faculty in 1988.
Dr. Liddy is a graduate of Daemen College in Amherst, New York. She holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in information transfer from Syracuse University.
Sherrill Berry Scott was promoted to vice president for administration at Lane College in Jackson, Tennessee. She will supervise enrollment management, transportation, and information technology services.
Scott has served on the staff of Lane College for 36 years. Over her long career, she has held administrative posts in alumni affairs, student affairs, and Title III programs.
Sally E. McRorie was named interim provost at Florida State University. This is the second time this year, Dr. McRorie was stepped in to serve as interim provost. Dr. McRorie is vice president for faculty development and advancement at the university.
Dr. McRorie earned a master’s degree from East Tennessee State University and a doctorate in art education from the University of Kansas.
Cinda Scott was named director of the Center for Tropical Island Biodiversity Studies in Bocas del Toro, Panama. The center is part of the School for Field Studies, a study abroad organization based in Beverly, Massachusetts. Previously, she was the National Science Foundation Innovation Through Institutional Innovation Program Manager at New York City College of Technology.
Dr. Scott is a graduate of Middlebury College in Vermont, where she majored in biology and environmental studies. She holds a Ph.D. in marine biology concentrating in molecular evolutionary genomics from the University of Miami’s School of Marine and Atmospheric Science.
Tracee de Hahn was appointed director of alumni relations for the College of Architecture and Urban Design at Virginia Tech. She was vice president for alumni relations and executive vice president of the alumni association at California Polytechnic State University.
De Hahn received bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Kentucky.
Meredith Gurley Johnson is the new executive director of the University of Georgia Alumni Association. She has been with the alumni association since 2001 and has been interim director since March 2014.
Johnson is a graduate of the University of Georgia’s College of Family and Consumer Sciences. She is studying for a master’s degree in education at the university.
Deborah M. Wiltrout was named associate vice president for marketing and communication at Florida Gulf Coast University in Fort Myers. She was assistant vice president of marketing at American University in Washington, D.C.
Wiltrout is a graduate of Ohio State University, where she majored in business administration and marketing. She holds an MBA from Marymount University.
Jona Burton was appointed coordinator of student life at the Gulf Coast campus of the University of Southern Mississippi in Long Beach. She will also serve as a liaison between the main campus and the Gulf Coast campus.
Burton is a graduate of Long Island University in New York. She holds a master of social work degree from Hunter College of the City University of New York.
Nanci Tessier was named vice provost for enrollment management at Boston College in Chestnut Hill, Massachusetts. She has been serving as vice president for enrollment management at the University of Richmond.
Tessier is a graduate of Boston College, where she majored in English and political science. She holds a master’s degree in education from Colorado State University.
Dr. Cautin, provost of Sacred Heart University in Connecticut, brings over two decades of higher education experience to her new role as president of Regis College in Weston, Massachusetts. She is slated to begin her presidency on July 1.
John Cabot University is a private American University based in Rome, Italy. Dr. Maioni, currently a professor at McGill University in Canada, is slated to become John Cabot's first woman president on July 1.
