New Leader for the University of Wisconsin Colleges and UW-Extension

Cathy-SandeenCathy Sandeen was named chancellor of the University of Wisconsin Colleges and chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Extension. The University of Wisconsin Colleges consist of 13 two-year campuses and online associate’s degree programs. The University of Wisconsin-Extension has offices in all 72 Wisconsin counties.

Since January 2013, Dr. Sandeen has been serving as vice president for education attainment and innovation at the American Council on Education. From 2006 to 2012, she served as dean of continuing education and UCLA Extension at the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to joining UCLA, D. Sandeen served for six years as vice provost and dean of University Extension and Summer Session at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

Dr. Sandeen is a graduate of Humboldt State University in Arcata, California. She holds a master’s degree in broadcast communication from San Francisco State University, an MBA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Ph.D. in communication from the University of Utah.
