The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, has announced the promotion of five faculty members to the rank of associate professor. All five of the faculty members were also granted tenure. Two of the promotions and tenure awards went to women.
Renee Lynn Bard was promoted to associate professor of sociology and anthropology. She joined the faculty at the College of the Holy Cross in 2008 after serving as a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral research fellow at the University of Illinois. She is an expert on Alzheimer’s disease and the sociology of health and aging. Dr. Bard is a graduate of Boston College, where she majored in sociology. She earned a Ph.D. in medical sociology from the University of California at San Francisco.
Barbara L. Craig was appointed associate professor of theatre and granted tenure. She joined the faculty at the College of Holy Cross in 2007. Earlier she spent six years as the properties director for the Denver Center Theatre Company. She specializes in set design, lighting, and costume design. Craig is a graduate of Barnard College in New York City. She earned a master of fine arts degree in design and technical theatre from the University of Minnesota.
With more than 30 years of experience in higher education, Dr. Richtermeyer has spent the past three years as executive vice chancellor for academic affairs and provost at Rutgers University-Camden
Cheryl Norman was appointed president of Ridgewater College in Minnesota and Ellen Kennedy was named interim president of Cape Cod Community College in Massachusetts.
Dr. Scarlatta has led the University of Michigan-Dearbon on an interim basis for the past year. Pending approval from the board of regents, she is slated to become the university's permanent leader on May 22.
Nicole Reaves has been serving as executive vice president and chief programs officer at Wake Technical Community College in Raleigh, North Carolina. On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
The selected candidate should have expertise and experience in theoretical models in labor and public economics as well as in microeconometrics and programming.
