June Pierce Youatt Named Provost at Michigan State University

Michigan State University President Lou Anna K. Simon has recommended that interim provost June Pierce Youatt be named to the position on a permanent basis. The appointment is subject to approval by the board of trustees. Dr. Youatt, a professor of human development and family studies, has served as interim provost since January 2013.
Professor Youatt holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees, all from Michigan State University. She joined the faculty at the university in 1986. In 2002, she was named associate provost for undergraduate education and was promoted to senior associate provost in 2006.
