New Assignment for the Dean of the Medical School at Case Western Reserve University

Pamela B. Davis, dean of School of Medicine and senior vice president for medical affairs at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, was chosen as chair-elect of the medical sciences section of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS). The organization is the world’s largest general scientific society and publishes the highly respected journal Science.
Dr. Davis has been dean of the medical school at Case Western Reserve University since 2007. She also holds the Arline H. and Curtis F. Garvin Research Professorship. Her research work focuses on cystic fibrosis.
Dr. Davis is a summa cum laude graduate of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. She earned her medical degree and a Ph.D. in physiology and pharmacology at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina.
