Debra Lyon was named to the Thomas M. and Irene Kirbo Endowed Chair at the University of Florida College of Nursing. She will also serve as the executive associate dean of the College of Nursing. Dr. Lyon was the Judith B. Collins and Joseph M. Teefey Distinguished Professor and associate dean for research at Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond.
Dr. Lyon holds bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral degrees in nursing from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Hazel Sive, who has served since 2007 as the associate dean of the School of Science at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, has stepped down from her administrative post to return full-time to her position as a professor of biology at MIT.
Dr. Sive joined the faculty at MIT in 1991. She is a graduate of the University of Witwatersrand in South Africa and holds a Ph.D. in molecular biology from Rockefeller University in New York City.
