Three Women Appointed to the Faculty at the College of the Holy Cross

college-of-the-holy-crossThe College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts, has announced the addition of 13 new faculty members this fall. Of the 13 new hires, three are women. All were hired at the assistant professor rank.

SelinaSelina Gallo-Cruz is a new assistant professor of sociology and anthropology. She was a visiting assistant professor at Emory University in Atlanta during the 2012-13 academic year.

Dr. Gallo-Cruz is a graduate of Wellesley College and holds a master’s degree and a Ph.D. from Emory University.

mkyunleeMin Kyung Lee was appointed assistant professor of the visual arts. She was a postdoctoral teaching fellow in the department of art at Swarthmore College in Pennsylvania. She is currently completing a book manuscript with the title The Tyranny of the Straight Line: Mapping Modern Paris.

Dr. Lee is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania and earned a master’s degree and a Ph.D. in art history from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

ShannonStockShannon Stock was hired as an assistant professor of mathematics and computer science. She was a biostatistician at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Boston.

Dr. Stock is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of California at Los Angeles, where she also earned a master’s degree. She earned a Ph.D. in biostatistics from Harvard University.

On July 15, she is slated to become the first woman president of Schenectady County Community College within the State University of New York System.
