Two Women Named to Lead the Office of Multicultural Student Affairs at the University of South Carolina

The University of South Carolina has announced the appointment of two African American women to lead its office of multicultural student affairs.

MaloneShalon Malone was named director of multicultural student affairs. Since 2007 she has been the assistant director of the Office of Leadership Development at Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Malone holds a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in media communications from Webster University in St. Louis. She is currently completing work on a doctorate in higher education administration at the University of Alabama.

SticklandNakia Strickland was named assistant director of multicultural student affairs. She was an admissions counselor at the Louis D. Brandeis School of Law at the University of Louisville.

Strickland holds a bachelor’s degree in English and a master’s degree in college student personnel from the University of Louisville.
