The New Editor of the Social and Institutional Analysis Section of the AERJ

Teresa L. McCarty, who holds the George F. Kneller Chair in Education and Anthropology in the Graduate School of Education and Information Studies at the University of California at Los Angeles, has been named editor of the Social and Institutional Analysis section of the American Educational Research Journal.
Dr. McCarty, who is also professor emerita at Arizona State University, has previously served as editor of the Anthropology and Education Quarterly and as co-editor of the Journal of American Indian Education.
Professor McCarty is a graduate of Ohio State University. She holds a master’ degree and a Ph.D. in social-cultural anthropology from Arizona State University. Her latest book is Language Planning and Policy in Native America: History, Theory, Praxis (Multilingual Matters, 2012).
