Two Women Are Among the Three Finalists for Provost at the University of Kentucky

kentuckyThe University of Kentucky has announced three finalists for the position of provost. All three candidates are visiting the University of Kentucky campus this week for a series of meetings and public forums. Two of the three candidates are women.

brickhouse_nancyNancy W. Brickhouse is the interim provost at the University of Delaware. She has been a member of the faculty at the university since 1988 and was promoted to full professor of science education in 2002. She also has held a wide array of administrative positions at the university.

Dr. Brickhouse is a magna cum laude graduate of Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where she majored in chemistry. She earned a master’s degree in chemistry and a doctorate in science education at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana.

RiordanChristineChristine Riordan is dean of the Daniels College of Business at the University of Denver. She is also a professor of management at the business school. Before coming to the University of Denver in 2008, Dr. Riordan was associate dean for external relations at the business school of Texas Christian University. Earlier, she taught for 10 years at the University of Georgia.

Dr. Riordan is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology. She holds an MBA and a Ph.D. in organizational behavior from Georgia State University.

Update: On May 2, Dr. Riordan was chosen as the next provost at the University of Kentucky.
