One Woman Among the Six Finalists for President of the College of Coastal Georgia

The College of Coastal Georgia in Brunswick has announced six candidates as finalists to be the next president of the educational institution. The college enrolls about 3,500 undergraduate students and women make up more than two thirds of the student body.
All of the presidential finalists will have visited campus by the end of March for interviews and public forums. Only one of the six finalists for president is a woman.
Beth Weatherby is provost and vice president for academic and student affairs at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall. She joined the faculty of the university in 1992 as an associate professor of English. Before assuming her current position, from 2004 to 2007, Dr. Weatherby was dean of the College of Arts, Letters & Sciences at the university.
A graduate of Northwestern University, Dr. Weatherby earned a Ph.D. in English and creative writing from the University at Albany of the State University of New York system.
