Harriet C. Cobb, a professor of graduate psychology at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia, has died at the age of 62. Professor Cobb was last seen on March 9 and was reported missing the next day. Police found her car in Bath County on March 11, about 60 miles from the university. Her body was discovered in a creek four days later, about a quarter mile from where her car was abandoned. Her shoes and a jacket were found on the shore of a fishing area. Foul play is not suspected in her death.
Professor Cobb’s career at James Madison University spanned 32 years. She held bachelors and masters degrees from Indiana University and earned a doctorate in education from the University of Virginia.
