Texas A&M University-Texarkana Names Its Next President

cutrerEmily Fourmy Cutrer has been named as the sole finalist for the position of president of the Texarkana campus of Texas A&M University. The campus enrolls about 2,000 students and women make up more than two thirds of the undergraduate student body. The public has a 21-day period to comment on the candidate before the board of regents gives their final approval of the appointment.

Dr. Cutrer currently serves as provost and vice president for academic affairs at California State University at San Marcos. Previously, she held several administrative posts at Arizona State University that spanned the years 1990 to 2006, including dean of the New College of Interdisciplinary Arts and Sciences.

Dr. Cutrer hold a bachelor’s degree in American studies, a master’s degree, and a Ph.D. in American civilization, all from the University of Texas at Austin.
