Zulma Toro-Ramos Is a Finalist for Provost at the University of Arkansas Little Rock

Zulma R. Toro-Ramos was named one of three finalists for provost and vice chancellor for academic affairs at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock. The other two finalists are men. All candidates will come to Little Rock for interviews and open forums later this month.

Since 2005, Zulma R. Toros-Ramos has served as dean of the College of Engineering at Wichita State University in Kansas. Previously, she served as the dean at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at the University of New Haven in Connecticut. Earlier in her career, she was the first woman chancellor at the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaquez.

Dr. Toros-Ramos is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, Mayaquez. She earned a master’s degree in industrial and operations engineering at Michigan State University and a Ph.D. in industrial and systems engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology.

Update: Dr. Toros-Ramos was chosen for the position on November 7.
