Sylvia Maxwell was chosen as the next dean of the School of Business at Providence College in Rhode Island. She will take her new post on August 1. Currently, Dr. Maxwell is a professor and director of the Principled Leadership Program and chair of the MBA program at the Simmons College School of Management in Boston. From 1988 to 1997, she served on the faculty at Yale University where she was an associate professor of political science and was director of the master’s degree program in international relations.
Dr. Maxwell is a graduate of Cornell University. She earned a Ph.D. in political economy at Harvard University. Her most recent book is Gatekeepers of Growth: The International Political Economy of Central Banking in Developing Countries (Princeton University Press).
