Susan Barman Is the New President of the American Physiological Society

Susan M. Barman is the new president of the American Physiological Society. She is the 85th president of the society which has nearly 11,000 members.
Dr. Barman is a professor of pharmacology and toxicology in the College of Human Medicine at Michigan State University in East Lansing. She also chairs the college’s graduate studies committee and the faculty advisory committee.
Professor Barman joined the Michigan State faculty in 1977 as an instructor. She was named a full professor in 1995. Dr. Barman holds bachelor’s degree in biology and a Ph.D. in physiology from Loyola University of Chicago.
