Debra Knapp Named Dance Educator of the Year

Debra Knapp, associate professor and director of dance in the College of Education at New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, has been named Dance Educator of the Year by the National Dance Association. The award was presented at the annual convention of the American Alliance of Health, Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance in Boston.

Professor Knapp has taught at New Mexico State since 2001. Previously, she has served on the faculties of Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana University in Bloomington, and the University of New Mexico.

Dr. Knapp earned bachelor’s and master’s degrees at Indiana University. She holds a doctorate in educational management and development from New Mexico State University.
