Three Women Appointed to Positions as Dean

Jodie R. Hanzlik was named dean of the Graduate School at Colorado State University in Fort Collins. She has been serving as interim vice provost for graduate affairs and has been associate vice provost for graduate affairs since 2007. She has taught in the occupational therapy department for 24 years.

Dr. Hanzlik holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and a Ph.D. from Iowa State University.

Mary-Ellen Boyle was appointed dean of the college at Clark University in Worcester, Massachusetts. The appointment is effective on June 1. She joined the faculty at Clark University in 1999 as a professor of management and has served as associate dean for the past three years.

Before coming to Clark, she taught at Boston College, Emmanuel College, Roger Williams University, and Vassar College. She holds an MBA and a Ph.D. from Boston College.

Nancy C. Andrews was reappointed to a second five-year term as dean of the Duke School of Medicine. She also serves as vice chancellor for academic affairs and professor of pediatrics and pharmacology & cancer biology at the medical school.

Dr. Andrews has been at Duke since 2007. Previously she was a dean and professor at Harvard Medical School.

Dean Andrews holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in molecular biophysics and biochemistry from Yale University. She earned a Ph.D. in biology from MIT and her medical degree from Harvard Medical School.
