Yakima Valley College in Washington State has announced a field of three candidates for president. They are Bonny Copenhaver, president of New River Community and Technical College in West Virginia, Kerry Lynn Levett, founder of the consulting firm Ascend Higher Educational Partners, and Teresa Rich, interim president of Yakima Valley College.

Dr. Rich has spent the past 18 years as vice president for administrative services at Yakima Valley College. She will begin her new role as interim president on August 1.

In Memoriam: Laura Valdiviezo, 1969-2025

Dr. Valdiviezo was a professor of education at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. A scholar of educational ethnography, she served as chair of the department of teacher education and curriculum studies and as director of the Center for Latin American, Caribbean, and Latino Studies.
